From our Treasurer
Crazy for You was a success as you all will know, not only on stage but also for Society funds. It is becoming more difficult year on year to balance the books or even make a small profit, and it is great to be able to advise that we made a small profit ! Apart from being Treasurer, my other main duty is to be part of the Front of House team during show week. This involves trying to ensure there are sufficient volunteers on hand to sell programmes and raffle tickets for each performance, and the team we had in place in 2016 turned in better than expected figures for both programme sales and raffle income. Over the last 30 or so years, the number of programmes we sell per audience member has fallen from 1 in 3, to 1 in 8, so it was a fantastic performance to sell to 1 in 6 last year. This is all leading up to me to ask you all for help with Front of House duties. If you are not going on stage this year, why not help out during show week? Or ask a member of the family if they would be interested? If you can help, please contact a member of the Committee. (DW)
